Welcome to Gadgetry
Gadgetry is a course offered at Carnegie Mellon University. The course covers the gadget design space, selecting componentry, circuit board design and layout, microcontroller programming, and user-interface design. We approach these topics in a project-centered course where students design, create, and test their own gadgets.
This site has three purposes: To act as a clearing-house for course information, to provide students with a space to document and share their design processes and creations, and to provide materials to other educators interested in teaching aspects of Gadgetry. Anything posted to this site should be considered free so long as attribution is provided to the original authors; project content is authored by students, while homeworks, lectures, and course documents are authored by the Gadgetry instructors, Brian Kirby and Tom Lauwers.
